What you actually buy

If the canvas is never filled

The artwork is complete when all 1,000,000 pixels are claimed. Our target date is 31 December 2027.
If the canvas is not full by then, nothing you own is taken away: your tile, owner number and certificate stay in place and the canvas stays online exactly as it is.
If we ever stop running Million Frame, any purchase that has not received what it paid for is refunded.

Consumers in Norway and the EU/EEA have a 14-day right to cancel. Because your place on the canvas is delivered immediately, you are asked to confirm at checkout that you want it right away and accept that the 14-day right then ends. After that, purchases are final, except where a refund is required by law, where we remove your tile in error, or if the project is discontinued. A reservation that expires before payment costs nothing.

Payments are processed securely by Stripe. We never see or store your card details.

Every verified owner receives a free print of the completed artwork — a smaller, unframed edition. The print itself costs nothing; you only pay shipping, which is calculated and paid separately before it is sent.

If you want the large version, you can upgrade to the framed Final Edition: 100 × 100 cm, premium framed and individually numbered, for verified owners only.

What is Million Frame?

Million Frame is a single collaborative artwork made of 1,000 × 1,000 pixels — one million in total. Every pixel costs $1, and anyone can claim a rectangular area of at least 10 × 10 pixels, then fill it with their own image, colour, short message and link.

The canvas starts completely blank. Nothing is simulated: each area you see on the Million Frame canvas belongs to a real person who bought and passed review. Claimed areas stay in place permanently, and the finished work becomes one limited, numbered fine art print reserved for verified owners.

Claim every pixel before 31 December 2027 and the original artwork is auctioned to the highest bidder, with the proceeds donated to a charity voted for by the pixel owners themselves.

The finished work also leaves the screen: painted at full scale by invited street artists, on a wall in a location revealed only when the work begins.

The Permanent Gallery

The prints, the auction of the original and the street art showings all have an end date. The artwork itself does not. When the last pixel is claimed, the complete work stays online in The Permanent Gallery, next to a searchable register of every verified owner — name, owner number, country, certificate number and place on the canvas.
