Terms of service
1. Agreement
By creating an account or claiming pixels on Million Frame you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the service.
2. Eligibility
You must be at least 18 years old, or have the consent of a parent or guardian, to buy pixels. You are responsible for keeping your account credentials secure.
3. Pixels and pricing
Pixels cost $1 each and are sold in rectangular tiles of at least 10 × 10 pixels. Selecting an area reserves it for a limited time; a reservation is not a purchase. Ownership of a tile is granted only after payment has been received and verified by our payment provider.
4. What ownership means
You buy a permanent place on the Million Frame canvas: the right to display approved content in your area for as long as the artwork exists, listed under your owner name, owner number and certificate number. It is not a share, a security or an investment product. Owning a tile does not transfer any intellectual property in the Million Frame artwork, brand or website as a whole.
5. Your content
You keep the rights to the image, message and link you upload, and you grant us a non-exclusive licence to display them as part of the artwork. You confirm you have the right to use everything you upload and that it complies with our content policy. We may remove or replace content that breaches that policy.
6. Moderation
All uploads are reviewed before appearing publicly, normally within 48 hours. We may reject content, suspend an account, or remove a tile without refund where the breach is serious or repeated. Rejected artwork can be replaced free of charge.
7. Refunds
Consumers in Norway and the EU/EEA have a 14-day right to cancel. Because your place on the canvas is delivered immediately, you are asked to confirm at checkout that you want it right away and accept that the 14-day right then ends. After that, purchases are final, except where a refund is required by law, where we remove your tile in error, or if the project is discontinued. A reservation that expires before payment costs nothing.
7a. Right of withdrawal (consumers)
If you buy as a consumer in Norway or the EU/EEA you normally have 14 days to cancel a distance purchase, without giving a reason. Your place on the canvas is digital content delivered immediately, so before paying you are asked to confirm two things: that you want delivery to begin at once, and that you understand the 14-day right of withdrawal ends once delivery has begun. We store the date and time you gave that confirmation with your order. If you do not want to give that confirmation, do not complete the purchase — send an email instead and we will handle your order manually so that the 14-day period is kept. Business purchases are not covered by the consumer right of withdrawal. To cancel, or to ask about a refund, email notify@millionframe.com.
7b. If the canvas is never filled
The artwork is complete when all 1,000,000 pixels are claimed. Our target date is 31 December 2027. If the canvas is not full by then, nothing you own is taken away: your tile, owner number and certificate stay in place and the canvas stays online exactly as it is. If we ever stop running Million Frame, any purchase that has not received what it paid for is refunded.
8. Physical prints
When all one million pixels are claimed, each verified pixel owner is entitled to one free print of the completed artwork — a smaller, unframed edition — regardless of how many tiles or pixels that owner holds. The print itself is free of charge; shipping is not included, is calculated separately and must be paid before dispatch. The owner is told the shipping cost before it is charged and may decline at that point. As an optional upgrade, verified owners may instead purchase one premium framed, individually numbered 100 × 100 cm edition at a current estimated price of $599 plus shipping; this is exclusive to verified owners and is not offered to the general public. Prints are produced after the artwork is complete. Registering a print choice is free and does not constitute a purchase, reservation, deposit, guarantee of production, or a promised delivery date. Final prices, shipping rates and ordering terms will be confirmed before ordering opens.
9. No investment promise
A pixel purchase is participation in the Million Frame artwork, not an investment product. We do not promise resale value, financial return, appreciation, or a secondary market for pixels, ownership certificates, purchase rights, or The Final Edition.
9b. Bonus chapters
Announced bonus chapters — the charity auction of the original artwork and the street art project, both conditional on every pixel being paid for before 31 December 2027 — are commitments made by Million Frame. They are not part of the goods or rights you purchase when you claim pixels, and their practical details, including auction timing, charity vote process and street art location, may change or be cancelled if circumstances such as permissions make them impossible.
9c. Business purchases
Companies, brands, agencies and organizations may claim pixels as a brand placement or sponsorship purchase. A business invoice is issued with the company details you provide, and the amount always matches the payment confirmed by our payment provider. Your purchase may qualify as an advertising or sponsorship expense depending on your local tax rules. We make no representation that a purchase is tax deductible or that VAT or other taxes can be recovered; tax treatment varies by country and by buyer. Please consult your accountant or tax adviser regarding local treatment. Business content is subject to the same moderation rules as every other contribution, and a business owner with a valid paid tile counts as one verified owner for The Final Edition, with no additional rights.
10. Availability and liability
We work hard to keep the service running but do not guarantee uninterrupted availability. To the fullest extent permitted by law, our liability to you is limited to the amount you paid for your pixels.
11. Changes
We may update these terms. Material changes will be announced on the site, and continued use after a change means you accept the updated terms.
